40 years of passions

In 2023, the Opéra de Québec celebrates 40 years of its founding. The first production was presented in the spring of 1985. Throughout these years, lyrical art has been able to live on stage in Quebec City through grandiose productions, unique events and the creation of a festival that will be in its twelfth edition this year. These successes are largely due to your loyalty and commitment to your opera house.

Supporting innovation and creation

The Opéra de Québec and its Festival enable exceptional creators to revisit the operatic repertoire classic with strength and scope by producing original and daring productions. The Festival d’opéra de Québec gives pride of place to the creation of new works and the enrichment of the repertoire.

Discovering local talent

Whether as a soloist, designer, chorister, musician or creator, each year more than 100 people have the unique opportunity to work, create and stand out in Quebec in an opera production of international caliber.

Continuing our educational mission

More than 1,500 people attend one of the dress rehearsals or a master class open to the public each year. These are high school students or post-secondary students in music, literature, architecture or human sciences, or community organizations, who experience an encounter with opera. Art makes useful work, so does your donation.

Donor Recognition Program

The Fondation de l’Opéra de Québec wishes to recognize the donors who enable the Opéra de Québec and the Festival d’opéra de Québec to bring lyrical art to life in the city. The Cercle des mécènes groups individuals who have made donations into six categories according to the amount of the donation, which entitles them to certain benefits.
