What will become of the love between Manrico and Leonora, which arouses the jealousy of Count de Luna? Who really is Manrico, this mysterious troubadour? Azucena, a bohemian who loves Manrico like her own son, knows all the secrets and will have the last word: revenge! Against a backdrop of war, passions flare to a sinister climax. Verdi’s music sublimates the tragic destinies of the protagonists, unaware of the blood ties that bind them.<\/p>\n

Along with La traviata<\/em> and Rigoletto<\/em>, Il trovatore <\/em>is one of Verdi’s operas whose success has not waned over the years. A pillar of the repertoire and one of the most performed in the world, it has only been presented once at the Op\u00e9ra de Qu\u00e9bec. For this new production, the Op\u00e9ra de Qu\u00e9bec is counting on the intelligence and creativity of director Jean-S\u00e9bastien Ouellette, who so finely revisited Donizetti’s Don Pasquale<\/em> in 2022. Conductor Federico Tibone, also a pianist and vocal coach, is currently associate conductor of the Op\u00e9ra de Marseille and the Orchestre philharmonique de Marseille.<\/p>\n

To interpret his roles of great depth, the Op\u00e9ra de Qu\u00e9bec director is counting on performers who know how to handle both acting and voice, including lyrico-spinto soprano Irina Stopina, who has dual training as a singer and actress.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
