A Festival d'opéra de Québec production

With Les Violons du Roy

Music: Jean-François Mailloux

Booklet: Jean-Philippe Lavoie

The wonderful collaboration between Les Violons du Roy and the Festival d’opéra de Québec continues! For this 13th festival, it takes the form of a grand lyric concert presented in the magnificent Raoul-Jobin hall of the Palais Montcalm. Famous and yet-to-be-discovered arias from Gluck to Berlioz will be performed by French soprano Isabelle Cals and Canadian tenor Frédéric Antoun, under the direction of Nicolas Ellis. Therefore, the music of the prominent composers of the French classicism period can count on exceptional artists to deliver it with accuracy and sensitivity.

Festival-goers are invited to take a sublime musical journey through a period during which major composers laid the foundations of the French style. The Festival d’opéra de Québec’s unique French-language programming is therefore a must-see event.
