In Seville, in the 18th century, the merry barber Figaro helped Count Almaviva to conquer Rosina. But Rosina, who was not indifferent to the serenades of her mysterious sighter, is jealously guarded by the old Doctor Bartolo, who counts well, with the help of the sinister Don Basilio, to marry her pupil as soon as possible.

Gala de la Journée mondiale de l’opéra (World Opera Day Gala)

Despite the ordeal, the pandemic has brought together a team of Quebec artists with thriving international careers who, at other times, would not have been able to be in Quebec City at the same time. It is both a chance and an opportunity to present the Quebec City Singing Summit, to participate and celebrate World Opera Day while showcasing the Opéra de Québec.

Love in Opera, or Woes/Words of Love

The gala brings together 8 young Quebec lyric artists with a career in full ascent on the stage at the Grand Théâtre de Québec to perform some of the most beautiful opera tunes on the theme of love.

The program features opera pieces by Mozart, Rossini, Puccini, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, Offenbach, Bizet and Gounod, among others.
