In 2023, the Opéra de Québec celebrates 40 years of its founding. The first production was presented in the spring of 1985. Throughout these years, lyrical art has been able to live on stage in Quebec City through grandiose productions, unique events and the creation of a festival that will be in its twelfth edition this year. These successes are largely due to your loyalty and commitment to your opera house.
Thanks to your generosity, the Opéra de Québec is able to present world-class productions, featuring performers who shine on the most prestigious stages. You are thus contributing to the sustainability of the Opéra de Québec and the Festival while promoting the influence of the opera, here and elsewhere. In addition, about 100 people are involved in each production.
We are committed to providing emerging artists with unique opportunities to stand out on the stage as a soloist, choir, director, artisan or designer.
Each year, more than 1,500 high school students in the Québec City area have the opportunity to attend a professional-caliber opera show free of charge.
