This transposition of Schönberg’s Pierrot lunaire incorporates compositions by Rachel Fenlon, dance and other poems by Giraud. A multidisciplinary, touching and poetic exploration of the fluidity of gender identity…

Great art that makes you laugh, cry and even scare a little… but not too much! After forays into Brazil and Mexico, La chèvre de monsieur Séguin, the classic for a whole generation of children, comes to the Festival d’opéra de Québec in an even more moving version.

Souvenirs de Lakmé

Théâtre La bordée

July 24 at 7:30 p.m.

July 26 at 7:30 p.m.

In this adaptation of Léo Delibes’ opera, Mallika becomes the narrator, evoking the memories of Lakmé, a young girl imprisoned by strict family and religious rigor, but trembling with love despite cultural prohibitions… Souvenirs de Lakmé, a co-production of the Festival d’opéra de Québec and Jeunesses Musicales Canada, retains all the delicate charm and inebriating finesse of the original work!

Outdoor Activities

In Quebec City

Every day from July 23 to August 2

Free outdoor activities are at the heart of the Festival d’opéra de Québec’s programming, because they bring opera to the people. The Opera and Operetta Brigades (La théière and À Clichy) are taking over the parks of Québec’s boroughs with their charming castelets. This year, the Opera Circuit – in addition to allowing festival-goers to discover the city’s enchanting charms – reveals to walkers some of the jewels of Québec’s religious heritage.
